| GEO European Project Workshop

Summary

The aim of the Workshop is to present European projects on Earth Observation funded by the European Community to various stakeholder groups and take this opportunity to consolidate their contribution to a European Strategy for Earth Observation. It is expected that the workshop will contribute to, on one hand, strengthening the coordination between the projects, and on the other hand, analysing the draft GEO 2009-2011 Work Plan with a view to contributing to its design and to better embedding the present and future European projects in the GEO Work Plan. The workshop will in particular be a good opportunity to enhance the cooperation between Earth Observation related activities conducted by the diverse Commission services and clarify the complementarities between those activities. The event is also an occasion for presenting relevant ideas in this field of research and for developing new research and implementation tasks which could be proposed for inclusion in the GEO 2009-2011 Work Plan. A plenary presentation of the projects is foreseen, and in addition, a poster session is organised which will allow to present more details on each of the projects. All the presentations and posters which will be presented during the two day event will be published on the Europa website after the workshop.
